Caitlin’s Journey at AdaptAbilities

As AdaptAbilities marks its 20th anniversary, we take a moment to reflect on the remarkable journeys of numerous participants. We are excited to share an update on previously introduced participant, Caitlin, and her personal growth at AdaptAbilities.

Caitlin has been with AdaptAbilities for a decade! She attended programs at McKernan House in 2014 and is currently part of the Community Connect program at Orange Hub. Caitlin enjoys bonding with participants and engaging in fun activities like bowling, swimming, and cooking.

Over time, Caitlin has developed important skills that help her reach her goals and improve her daily living abilities, all while gaining greater independence in her decision-making.

AdaptAbilities has supported Caitlin to achieve her employment goals. She has performed job duties such as delivering supplies to support others in maintaining social connections through online activities involving cooking, life skills, and creative projects. In 2019, Caitlin gained experience as a bus cleaner for ETS, fostering her independence and helping her attain financial goals.

Caitlin also dedicates her time volunteering at West End Senior Homes, assisting in the kitchen to prepare meals. This not only shows her kindness but also the positive impact she is making on the lives of the seniors. Her passion for volunteering is truly remarkable!

AdaptAbilities empowers Caitlin to pursue her interests, make choices, and gain self-sufficiency. It has been amazing to see her growth and how she embraces every opportunity to learn and contribute to the community. She is truly an inspiration to everyone around her and we cheer her on as she continues to work towards her goal of being independent and living on her own.
