That’s a Wrap! July Hearts In Action

“Camp didn’t increase her anxiety and she was still relaxed when she came home. I wish there was a camp program all year round!”

We wish summer lasted all year round! It’s hard to believe that an entire month of camp has come and gone! This summer has been our first with themed camps, and while it is not a new concept, it is a “new to us” concept! Thank you to our tireless team of team leads, relief care specialists, and behind-the-scenes ninjas that worked continuously to execute new, fun and engaging activities for our campers!

HIGHLIGHTS

Some of our favorite activities have included visiting CBC Edmonton, creating Olympic medals, visiting K-Days (always a favorite!) crafting our own Butterbeer recipes for Wizard Week (yum!), and visiting Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch!

Families have said:

“Seeing our child’s smiling face every day that he went to camp…he loved it! [He] got ready for camp with enthusiasm in the mornings, and came home tired and extremely happy/giggly everyday after camp!! Thank you all so very much for making his summer extra special to him!”

We are so happy to have each and every family attend each week! August is shaping up to be another great month of camp – we have Survival techniques planned for Week 6’s Wilderness Wonders, creating Astronaut Food and galaxy goo for Astronaut Adventures in Week 7, and a few surprise field trips up our sleeves for our August Respite weeks! Thanks to all of our community sponsors and donors who helped make these possible.

Below are a few of our favorite snaps from the first weeks of camp:
