Gobind Prihar Donor Spotlight

Gobind Prihar is one of AdaptAbilities’ gracious monthly donors! Gobind is a Senior Relationship Manager with the Bank of Montreal, working as part of the Canadian Commercial Banking team in Edmonton. BMO encourages its employees to put others first and make tomorrow better. They believe a more equitable world with additional opportunities for all makes the world a better place. In 2020, with ongoing uncertainty happening around the world, Gobind wanted to do something to help a range of communities.

Looking for an organization to support for the holiday season, he asked nine of the people closest to him to recommend an organization for him to support. His grandfather recommended helping kids with disabilities. Fortunately, he learned about AdaptAbilities – where we create possibilities for individuals and their families by delivering essential programs.

Gobind believes the goals of AdaptAbilities and the methods in which we implement assistance in providing respite and relief for families is well worth the support. “Relieving stress and allowing everyone time for self-care, even for short periods of time, can allow caregivers additional capacity to do their best.”

Gobind states that it’s very easy to help AdaptAbilities with monthly donations. Having attended the Annual AdaptAbilities Breakfast and listening to some first-hand accounts, AdaptAbilities will continue to receive his support indefinitely.

In addition, Gobind mentions the handwritten letters he receives are heart-warming and make him feel good for doing his part!

While the majority of the ways he gives back is through monetary donations, Gobind partakes in community-building events to support other charities such as Habitat for Humanity and the Edmonton Food Bank.

AdaptAbilities is grateful for Gobind’s support, which ensures individuals in the community can continue to grow, succeed and belong!
