Introducing you to Eugenio!

Eugenio is an open-hearted and loving teenager. He gets along with everyone, especially adults, and shows his affection through hugs. One of Eugenio’s passions is acting and drama. He has a gift for performing on stage and loves to show off his creativity. One of his favourite activities is to spend time with his younger brother, creating stories and acting them out.

Eugenio deals with many challenges such as a heart defect, learning delays, PANDAs (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections) and a rare condition that only a handful of people in the world have been diagnosed with. Eugenio’s family emigrated to Canada. His mom says they are so grateful for the supports their family receives from AdaptAbilities as they would not be available in their home country.

Eugenio quickly bonded with his Community Specialist support worker and pre-COVID loved to access opportunities in the community like working out at the recreation centre. Eugenio is now part of our online program, which includes a social night drama class where he can explore his passion further.

When Eugenio spends time with his Community Specialist support worker or participates in our online program, his parents have the opportunity to spend one-on-one time with their other children. The support provided to their family is making a big difference!

Eugenio’s self esteem and independence have increased and the supports provided have enhanced his social life. Such great changes!
