Riley’s Summer of Fun!

A lover of physical activities, Riley enjoys bowling and basketball. He has a passion for music and often sings along while strumming his ukulele. A true social butterfly, he enjoys connecting with others and treasures the time spent with the friends he’s made.

Riley’s mother is a single parent who works full-time to provide for her family and has encountered difficulties in securing respite care that fits her work schedule—until she discovered the programs offered by AdaptAbilities.

Throughout the year, Riley attends school, but once the summer months come, his routine is disrupted. He is accustomed to a social environment filled with teachers, school friends, and a structured day.

Riley thrives in environments with peers his age, participating in various activities and field trips, so Hearts in Action Summer Camp has been the perfect program for him!

With limited funding hours per week, the AdaptAbilities Bursary Fund helped cover the extra hours needed for respite and Riley was able to enjoy his time at camp. It provided Riley with a wonderful opportunity to have fun and make friends, allowing his mom to ease her worries and focus on work.

At camp, Riley enjoyed exploring the city and engaging in various activities, particularly swimming amongst the many field trips planned. He has created a bond with team members and enjoys socializing with other participants his age.

Many unforgettable memories were made this past summer, and we are happy that Riley has found an environment that sets him up for success.

See you at camp next year, Riley!
