Cyndi’s Bright Spirit
Meet Cyndi! She is a ray of sunshine who brings positivity, laughter, and kindness everywhere she goes. A proud fan of the Edmonton Elks and Edmonton Oilers, she can often be seen wearing her favourite team merchandise while spending time with friends and giving back to her community.

Cyndi loves art, bowling, dancing, and cooking. She especially enjoys spending time with her Community Connect friends and attending Thursday Social Nights at Orange Hub, where she has built meaningful friendships and connections. Being involved in her community and meeting new people has always been important to Cyndi, and these opportunities have helped her grow in confidence and independence.
Cyndi has cerebral palsy and uses a mobility aid for longer distances. In the past, she found it difficult to advocate for herself regarding her emotions, needs, and friendships. Through consistent encouragement, positive reinforcement, and a supportive environment, Cyndi has developed greater confidence in expressing herself and communicating her needs. She knows she is supported, accommodated, and listened to, which has helped build strong trust and a sense of safety.
Volunteering has become one of Cyndi’s greatest passions. Every Wednesday, she volunteers with Meals on Wheels, decorating meal bags with colourful drawings and cheerful messages to brighten recipients’ days. She has also volunteered with Coats for Kids, helping sort donations, organize clothing, and pack hygiene kits for those in need. At Westend Seniors, Cyndi assisted with mealtimes by making sandwiches, serving soup, and learning kitchen and food handling skills. These experiences have strengthened her passion for helping others and her interest in food preparation and kitchen work.
Cyndi’s caring nature, determination, and joyful spirit continue to make a lasting impact on everyone around her. Whether she is volunteering, creating art, cheering on her favourite teams, or spending time with friends, she brings warmth and positivity to every space she enters.
